A low temperature ( 4 K) Scanning tunnelling microscope is coupled to an Auger –electron spectrometer (AES) and a low energy electron diffractometer (LEED). The chamber can be equipped with several evaporators, for metal and molecule evaporation. It is possible to make deposition at low temperature, directly in the STM chamber The base pressure of the system is in the 10-11 mb range.
